Located to the north of London’s centre, this inner city district is loved for its live music scene and multicultural population who gather around the canal lock and famous market.

A diverse crowd is drawn to Camden’s open-air markets which sell jewellery, clothes and other wares throughout the week. Alternative fashion is a particular feature, reflecting the area’s inclusive vibe that sees people of all ages and cultures peruse the stalls. At night, neon lights spill onto the cobbled streets as many colourful bars, pubs and nightclubs welcome fun-lovers.

Away from the high street and lock, most buildings are residential and include a mix of council flats and private houses.

Setting up your business here

It’s safe to say, Camden Town’s serviced offices are surrounded by lively pubs and markets, as well as more tranquil spots like Regent’s Park. The major rail links of King’s Cross and Euston are less than a ten-minute Underground ride away, plus many bus routes service the streets. It’s certainly not the most sedate of areas so expect a fun and colourful crowd of fellow visitors.

Culture and Entertainment

Fantastic for people-watching, Camden Town is all about the alternative music and fashion scene. Popular venues for live bands and singers range from institutions like The Roundhouse and Electric Ballroom, to more recent incarnations like Underworld. The cobbled streets of Proud Camden - once home to a horse hospital – are now a well-known burlesque venue and nightclub.

For something more low-key, take a walk through Regent’s Park or maybe along Regent’s Canal which goes through the heart of Camden. If there’s time to spare, a boat trip to Little Venice could make for a picturesque afternoon activity.

Eating out

If you don’t mind a paper plate, check out Camden’s many street stalls. Dishes from across the world are served alongside the markets and make an easy choice for a lunchtime snack. Hole Guacamole, for example, sells fresh Mexican food like burritos and quesadillas, while there’s also hot dogs, mac ‘n’ cheese, Thai curry and many more options.

Those after a sit-down meal could try Sushi Waka on Parkway. This traditional Japanese restaurant is family-run and serves dishes including fish, tempura and teriyaki. Odette’s is the place to impress. Based on Regent’s Park Road, this modern European restaurant allows for leisurely business lunches with its tasting and a la carte menus, complete with impressive wine list.
