Situated in the City of London, the Guildhall is a focal building with an important function, as it is the administrative centre for the City of London Government. It has been used as a town hall for a number of centuries and enjoys a long and rich history. A truly impressive building, which looks stunning and boasts fabulous, intricate details, the Guildhall has hosted many important trials in its time, such as the trials of Lady Jane Grey, Guildford Dudley, and Anne Askew. It is the only stone building that did not belong to the Church to survive the 1666 Great Fire of London. It is also where you will find important memorials to historical figures such as Admiral Lord Nelson, Winston Churchill, Pitt the Elder and Pitt the Younger.

Business Information

Renting serviced offices in this area puts businesses in a very central location with excellent transport facilities and many amenities and facilities near to hand. The Guildhall itself is a complex that houses a number of attractions, such as the Clockmaker’s Museum and Guildhall Library. There are also modern office spaces just to the north of the building where the day to day administration takes place.

Entertainment And Dining Out

A great variety of entertainment can be enjoyed just a short distance from the Guildhall, so there is plenty to keep you busy in the evenings. Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is in the vicinity offering open-air theatrical performances, or you might want to take in some live comedy at the famous Comedy Cafe. Plenty of restaurants are to be found in the neighbourhood, with dishes to suit all tastes. International cuisine is around every corner, with everything from American and Italian to South Asian and French. You can also enjoy vegetarian dining, seafood specialties, or snacks and fast food from high end eateries.

Transport Information

Moorgate and Bank tube stations are right on the Guildhall’s doorstep, with Liverpool Street and Mansion House nearby. Mainline rail services can also be accessed at Moorgate, Cannon Street and Liverpool Street, offering multiple onward journeys, out of London, to notable UK towns and cities. Plenty of secure parking facilities are available and the area is also well served by buses and taxis.
