Lewisham is a borough in south-east London that incorporates a number of smaller districts, all of which make a significant contribution to life in the UK’s capital city. Lewisham is bordered by the boroughs of Greenwich to the east, Bromley to the south and Southwark to the west. The area is for the most part characterised by residential, retail and commercial properties, and by numerous parks and open spaces. The borough covers a series of exceptionally varied and vibrant urban areas within south-east London, which are each very different from one another and quite unique to the capital. Among the best-known and most visited parts of Lewisham are Blackheath, New Cross, Brockley and Hither Green, all of which are well-established as excellent places to live, work and visit in Greater London.
