Stafford is the county capital of Staffordshire. Having been founded around 700 AD the town has a rich history spanning many centuries. There is much to explore in this town, and there are many landmarks that reflect this heritage. Some of the places of interest that you can find in or very close to Stafford include the Elizabethan Ancient High House, Stafford Castle, the Shire Hall Gallery, Shugborough Hall, and Sandon Hall. There are a number of major roads and motorways that pass close to the town, including the M6, the A34, the A518, and the A513.
