Situated in the Borough of Bromley, Beckenham is only around 8 or so miles from Charing Cross. This is a well connected town that has evolved from a small and largely rural village. The introduction of the railway in the area in the 1850s saw a surge in expansion and this helped to turn Beckenham into the vibrant and bustling town that it is today. Beckenham Hill and Ravensbourne are on the Catford Loop line. The area is well served by buses and taxis, and with good road connectivity is also convenient for drivers. There are also tram links providing easy access to East and West Croydon as well as to Wimbledon.
